Fatal Wednesday morning crash in Greene County

GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – UPDATE 1/23: The names of those involved in the fatal crash in Greene County on Wednesday have been released.

Phillip K. Reynolds Jr., 51 of Linton, was pronounced dead at the Greene County General Hospital.

Two others involved in the accident were transported to the Greene County General Hospital. with serious injuries.

Todd W. Bennett, 19 of Linton, was later transported from the Greene County General Hospital to Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis. He was last listed still in serious condition.

The condition of Lisa M. Shafer, 48 of Odon, was not known at the time.

This accident is under investigation. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.


A crash Wednesday morning closed State Road 54 in Greene County for hours.

One person died in the accident just before 7 a.m. that involved multiple cars. The road was closed just east of County Road 800 West between Linton and Switz City.

As of now, police are not releasing the name of the victim.

State Road 54 reopened just before 3 p.m.
