CLINTON, Ind. (WTHI) – Construction set to begin on an $8 million housing project in Clinton, Indiana. Crews just finished up the demolition phase last week. The project manager expects the 60 apartments to be finished before the end of the year.

When we last took you inside this old garment factory in Clinton, Indiana. Crews had started on the last phase of demolition. But a week later, the uncovered floor joists, exposed ceilings and cleared out floors say one thing.

Renovation can begin.

“There will be14 apartments (at the old garment factory),” Clinton Mayor Jack Gilfoy said.  “At the north facility there will be 46. Some of those apartments there will be 3 bedrooms.”

Thursday, some of the principal players in starting the project got a tour of the gutted building; as construction manager stopped in to see the progress. If you see the inside, the difference a year later is staggering. The only thing more shocking is the time table to complete this $8 million housing project.

“This coming November both sites should be turned over to property management and should be leasing. The first clubhouses come online in July,” Project Manager William Mock of Herman and Kittle Properties said. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
