COALMONT, Ind. (WTHI) – Sunday morning around 1:40 am the Lewis Township Fire Department was dispatched to the old Coalmont School for a commercial structure fire. Upon arrival they found heavy fire through the roof of the school.  Numerous departments in the area were called to assist due to the size of the structure and amount of water that was going to be needed to contain the fire.

The fire was contained to the building and did not cause any damage to any other properties nor were there any injuries reported.

At this time the fire is being considered suspicious but nothing is final until after the State Fire Marshal investigation is completed. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
