EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WTHI) – The mother of Gregory Scott Collins is looking for answers after her son’s murder. You may recall it happened in January.
Illinois State Police said someone set Collins’ Casey home on fire. He was found dead inside. Police have ruled the case a homicide, and have not made any arrests at this time.
Patricia Veach, Collins’ mother, reached out to News 10. Still shocked and in grief, she wanted to keep the story alive.
She said her son did not deserve to die in such a disturbing manner.
“Scott was killed and murdered in such a cruel way, and his beloved dog was killed, and it wasn’t right,” Veach said.
Right now police aren’t sharing any more details, or if they have any leads. The investigation is still ongoing, but Patricia believes someone knows something,
She has a message for whomever that may be.
“I want them to come clean about it, and get their life straightened out. I’ll forgive them. God wants us to forgive them, but I want them brought to justice,” Veach said.
