PEORIA, Ill. — Indiana State senior guard Jake Odum scored 27 points and hit 13-of-13 free throw attempts as the Sycamores earned a 68-62 road victory over Bradley in front of 6,302 fans inside Carver Arena.
The Sycamores improved to 19-6, 10-3 MVC while Bradley fell to 11-15, 6-7 MVC. Indiana State earned its nine true road victory over the season and its 10th away from Hulman Center. The nine true road wins are tied with No. 2/4 Wichita State for most in the MVC and trail only Manhattan (11) and Stephen F. Austin (10) for the most nationally.
Odum, who tallied 27 points and went a perfect 13-of-13 from the free throw line moved past Duane Klueh and Carl Nicks for seventh on the Indiana State scoring list with 1,435 points scored. Additionally he now has 536 career free throws made and is just six shy of Larry Bird’s school record (542). The victory over Odum’s and Lucas Eitel’s 75th in a Sycamore uniform which tied them for fifth-most by a player in the history of the program with Michael Menser and Matt Renn.
