Sycamore Manor celebrates love

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – There was a special celebration Wednesday at Sycamore Manor to gear up for Valentine’s Day.

The community was invited to enjoy treats and an afternoon at Sycamore Manor in Terre Haute.

Visitors and residents spent some time with the location’s new executive director as well.

While we were there, we met a couple who’s been married 65 years this year.

On the holiday of love, they even gave us a few tips on how they did it.

“Knowing when to shut up. (laughs) I’d say give and take. The good Lord’s been good to us. When you get in a quarrel, and you know you’re wrong, just turn around and walk away,” According to Richard and Betty Butts.
Sycamore Manor plans to host other events open to the public in the coming months. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
