TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Every team has an opponent no matter their record they struggle with. The last several years for the Indiana State University men’s basketball team, that’s been Southern Illinois. The 10-16 Salukis once again gave the 19-6 sycamores all they could handle. ISU survived the match up winning 60-57 and the Sycamores pick up win number 20 on the season. It’s the earliest this program has reached 20 wins since the 1978-1979 Larry Bird team did it on February third. It’s also ISU’s first 20-win regular season since 1999-2000.
