SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A man was arrested over the weekend and is facing charges after what police say was possibly the biggest methamphetamine bust in Shelby County history.

Late Saturday night, authorities served a narcotics warrant in the 1100 block of State Street and took Jason Baxter into custody.

After searching the home, the Shelby County Drug Task Force seized one pound of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills, $3,000 in cash and an SUV. It’s estimated that the street value for the methamphetamine is around $45,000 to $50,000.

Officials say the search of the residence yielded the biggest methamphetamine seizure in years and possibly the biggest in county history.

Baxter was arrested on three Class A felony charges–dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and corrupt business influence.

If you have information on any suspicious drug activity, you’re asked to call the Drug Task Force at 317-395-7483.
