Washington man enters gulity plea in murder case

WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTHI) – One Washington, Indiana man accused in the December shooting death of 17-year-old Devan Burris pleaded guilty to a charge of murder in Daviess Superior Court Tuesday.

The charges stem from a December 2013 incident that happened on Oak Grove Road in Washington. According to information in an unsealed court document police believed Evans wanted to buy methamphetamine from Burris.

Investigators arrested two other people in connection with the crime, Heaven Berry and Luke Benjamin.

Berry and Benjamin face charges including conspiracy to commit murder.

Logan Evans is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing March 27.
