Terre Haute teen sentenced for child neglect


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A Terre Haute teen was sentenced to four years of in home detention for a child neglect case two years ago.

19-year-old Jesse James Weir was charged after a seven-week-old infant girl was injured and hospitalized in December 2011.

The case was waived from juvenile court in September 2012.

That’s when Weir was charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury.

During that time, police say the infant suffered several serious injuries, including rib fractures, skull fractures and bleeding in the brain.
