BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WISH) – The Brownsburg Community School Corporation and its police officers are working to protect students online.

The district is hosting a meeting to educate parents specifically about social media.

The goal is for parents to navigate social media like their kids do, including:

  • Familiarizing parents with new websites and apps used by students.
  • Teaching the language kids use.
  • Alerting parents to any warning signs.

School representatives say the goal is to keep kids safe.

The class is called Digital parenting presentation: Raising children in a social media world. It’s at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brownsburg High School, 1000 S. Odell St. in Brownsburg. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
