CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – On Tuesday night just before 9 p.m., an Indiana State Trooper was eastbound on State Road 46 near County Road 700 East when he saw a vehicle leave the roadway.

That vehicle, driven by Jody Allen Bush, 45 of Terre Haute, hit an embankment, a yard sign and a large bale of hay.

The three occupants in the car did not sustain any injuries, but officials reported there was the smell of marijuana coming from the back of the vehicle.

The Brazil City Police Department and their K-9 ‘Titan’ was brought in to investigate the vehicle.

‘Titan’ alerted to the driver’s side of the vehicle and a search revealed three black bags containing 61 hypodermic needles, spoons with white powder residue, approximately 20 grams of marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia items.

The spoons and six of the needles field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Bush was arrested and taken to the Clay County Jail.

He faces possible charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of hypodermic needles and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
