Colts re-sign punter Pat McAfee

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Popular Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee is staying in Indianapolis.

McAfee announced on NFL Network this morning that he agreed to terms of a five-year contract with the team. The team later confirmed the news.

The punter, who is well-known for his social media presence, tweeted a teaser to the announcement just before it happened Friday:

He also tweeted his excitement after the announcement:

McAfee has had much success with the Colts since the team drafted him in 2009, breaking multiple franchise records. This past season, 27 of his punts were pinned inside the 20-yard line, breaking his personal record and the team’s record.
