A chance to help a man in search of a new heart

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A chance for you to help a man in search of a new heart.

Last week, we told you the story of Dustin Weger. He’s a 26-year-old father of two suffering from an enlarged heart.

He’s being kept alive by special heart pumping device.

That device is very costly and Weger is unable to work. To help pay for medical bills, the family is putting on a benefit on Sunday.

“We put this whole thing together, just to try to help the family out, but also to be able to get the word out about what’s going on with Dustin, and that’s really the most important thing,” said Ashley Judson, event coordinator.

The benefit starts Sunday at the AMVETS Post 222 at 2 p.m. There will be a live auction, spaghetti dinner and live music.
