TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – An annual tournament for wrestlers Saturday brought lots of people to the area.
It was the Dale Griffin Memorial Tournament and more than 100 wrestlers competed.
The annual tournament helps remember Sgt. Dale Griffin, a former Terre Haute South wrestler who died serving in Afghanistan.
The event brought together some of the best wrestlers in the valley for a day of competition and a chance to remember a local hero.
“It allows us to be able to overcome some of the feelings we’ve had over the years over the loss of our son- but when you have this number of people come have a good time, compete, and enjoy the privileges and freedoms we have as a country,” said Gene Griffin
