INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTHI) – Many more military veterans and their families will now have access to state money to help them through trying times.
Thursday morning at the Indiana War Memorial in Indianapolis, Governor Pence signed into law an expansion of the “Military Family Relief Fund”.
With the change, there’s no longer a time limit on the fund, Iraq and Afghanistan War veterans no longer lose their access to the money three years after they return from service.
It’s the rare issue that got unanimous support from Republicans and Democrats in the current Statehouse session.
