Carson’s teams up with Goodwill

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – One Wabash Valley business is trying to give back to its community.

Carson’s Department Store in Terre Haute began its 2014 Goodwill Sale.

It’s an annual event sponsored by Carson’s mother ship, Bon-Ton.

For every item customers donate, they will receive a 25 percent off regular and sale items.

Donations are then sold at local Goodwill stores.

The proceeds will help fund job training programs and services for families in need.

Carson officials say drives like these are important to their company.

“We serve here in the Wabash Valley. The Carson’s company has given away 95 million in items throughout the company to Goodwill since the event started. And the Carson’s Bon-Ton family is the largest corporate partners of the Goodwill Corporation,” Carson’s manager Nick Swango said.

The 2014 Goodwill Sale will last through March 29th. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
