INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The deadline is quickly approaching to sign up for health care coverage. To beat that deadline, hundreds of people were on hand Saturday for “Enroll Indianapolis Day” at Eskenazi Health.

Hospital officials hosted the event to help eligible Hoosiers learn about options offered through the Affordable Care Act and to sign up on-site for one the state’s marketplace insurance plans.

The new health insurance marketplace is designed to provide uninsured Hoosiers with access to new plans being made available. Organizers say for a lot people, it has been overwhelming going online and signing up. Saturday’s event was an opportunity for them to get help.

“We are helping them create their account on the healthcare.gov website and then we help them enter all of their data and information and see what their options are for healthcare coverage,” Melissa Masterson with Eskenazi Health told WISH-TV.
