TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – One Wabash Valley hot spot is seeing lots of green on St. Patrick’s Day.
Our crew stopped by Sonka Irish Pub in Terre Haute for lunch Monday.
Many people in the pub were rocking the green.
People enjoyed an Irish meal and a drink.
Owners say the pub always sees great crowds on St. Patrick ’s Day.
In fact, it’s their most trafficked day of the year.
They don’t expect those numbers to be any different this year, even though the day fell on a Monday.
“It’s just tradition. It also represents the spring. People are ready to get out and do something. Good friendship, and maybe a pint of beer,” owner Sandy Boyles-Gillen told us.
