Daviess County man sentenced


DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A Daviess County man connected to a murder case was sentenced this week.

Lucas Benjamin, 19, was arrested in December in connection to a Washington shooting that killed 17-year-old Devan Burris.

In March, Benjamin pleaded guilty to dealing meth and assisting a criminal. He first faced conspiracy to commit murder charges.

Benjamin was sentenced to 20 years for dealing meth and was also sentenced another five years for carrying a handgun and five years for assisting a criminal.

The last two charges will be served consecutively.
