VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – On Saturday, News 10 told you about two Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies who saved a man’s life using an Automated External Defibrillator, or AED.
The victim is now in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
The use of the AED from a deputy’s squad car, plus CPR performed by a deputy on scene, proved successful in saving the victim’s life.
It’s an extraordinary story that wouldn’t have been possible two years ago.
That’s when the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department put an AED in at least one squad car on every shift.
