US 40 Paving project pushed back a week

BRAZIL, Ind (WTHI) – Downtown Brazil, Indiana, was set to be cloaked in orange construction barrels on a road project many say is years overdue!

Monday afternoon, News 10 confirmed through INDOT that the target start date of April first, is now pushed back a full week.

Even though many merchants have mixed emotion about the project, given its 2 year projected run time, those who’ve lived their whole life in clay county will tell you, it’s been a talked about pavement upgrade since the early 1980s!

The chamber of commerce is kicking off a simultaneous campaign, urging locals they can still depend on the reliable business owners up and down 40 even if the streets and sidewalk won’t be easy to navigate!
