Alia joined News 10 in November 2013 as a producer/reporter.

Alia graduated from BallStateUniversity in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both telecommunications and journalism. During her four years at BallState, Alia served as an anchor and reporter for Newslink Indiana. Newslink Indiana is a student produced, nightly newscast, airing in different counties throughout east-central Indiana on the local WIPB-TV affiliate.

Alia has also kept busy during her summers. During the summer of 2012, Alia packed her bags and traveled to Baltimore, Maryland. There, she served as a production intern, working for the NFL team and former Super Bowl champs, the Baltimore Ravens, and their media outlet, RAVE-TV. It was a different atmosphere working on the sports side of things, but also very fun!

The following summer, Alia served as a communications intern for Indiana Black Expo, Inc. in Indianapolis. There, Alia handled all social media accounts for the organization, and even had the opportunity to interview many well-known celebrities.

Alia is from Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from BenDavisHigh School in 2009. It was in high school where she truly recognized her love for broadcasting, working for “BDTV” as an anchor and reporter. Alia was also a NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences) scholarship winner for the Lower Great Lakes chapter in 2009. This achievement is very close to Alia’s heart as she was chosen, out of many, as one of the two recipients for the award.

In her free time, Alia likes to spend time with her family and close friends, try out different foods, watch movies, and of course… shop!

This is the start of Alia’s professional broadcasting career, and what better place to start than with WTHI-TV!
