What makes love last?

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) Paris, France may be the city of love, but Terre Haute, Indiana may not be far behind. A study from Indiana State University says love is in the air in the Wabash Valley.

Psychology professor Virgil Sheets completed a study of relationships in Terre Haute. Of the 800 people in Terre Haute surveyed close to 65% said they were in love. Sheets said it’s because that initial spark is replaced by something else.

“What we found was people who claim that they are learning new things about themselves and their partner in their relationship, those people report greater levels of romantic attraction or passion for their partners,” Sheets explained.

Professor Sheets usually does survey studies on college students, but was curious about the larger Terre Haute area for this study.
