Man charged with drug induced homicide

EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WTHI) – In Effingham County, Illinois a man is officially charged with drug-induced homicide.

The state’s attorney filed the charge Monday against 23-year-old Jay C. Miller of Altamont.

Police say Miller delivered a substance to a woman.

They say Miller knew the substance contained heroine, and the woman then injected that substance.

Officials say that woman, 29-year-old Jessica James of Effingham died as a result of the injection.
