VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Terre Haute Police Department is looking into a missing person report on Jerry Cheesman who has not been seen since October of 2013.

When the report was first made, Cheesman had no permanent residence and his last temporary residence was at the Light House Mission. His last known contact with anyone was on Oct. 17, 2013.

During their investigation, multiple leads and one possible sighting turned out to all be false.

Officials state some information has indicated Cheesman may have been near Tabertown Street in eastern Vigo County around the time of his disappearance.

THPD states they are exploring every possible scenario but reported there has been no financial activity for Cheesman since the time he was reported missing.

As the weather is improving, and people are out in the more rural areas, officials are asking the public to keep in mind Cheeman’s physical descriptions: white male, 49-years-old, 5’6”, 140 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.

Also, THPD believes there may be potential persons with information regarding his disappearance.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at (812) 238-1661, or Crime Stoppers (812) 238-STOP. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
