LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ill. (WTHI) – 10 staff from Red Hill CUSD #10 have been given Honorable Dismissals/RIF notices after a school board Thursday night.

Those 10 individuals will continue to work in the district until the school year ends and the school board is hopeful several of those employees will be called back for next year.

While some positions were cut, no programs were cut nor do they intend to cut any programs.

“Going forward, we have had a huge response of support from our community in that monetary donations have already begun to come in for purchasing some of our items for curricular improvement, many individuals have offered to volunteer their time and efforts, and some are inquiring about privately funding some of the teaching positions,” said Bob Christy, Red Hill CUSD #10 School Board president.

Christy also stated they will continue to explore all appropriate options available, including federal grants, local grants, partnerships with local industries, etc.
