VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Ivy Tech trustees voted Thursday to merge two regions in Indiana.
There will be one chancellor over both regions, but two campus presidents.
Officials say the students won’t notice the change at all.
But that doesn’t mean there won’t be in the future as this consolidation will save the college money.
“I think we’ll be able to direct our resources more toward student advisors and full-time faculty for students. So in the future, there will probably be some more visibility to this change, but at the time being, Ivy Tech Community College, to the students, will be the same,” Rene Hankins, Executive Director of Outreach said.
The campus president’s main focus will be on community outreach in their respective areas.
