Battle of the Books competition in Wabash Valley

WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTHI) – Wabash Valley students spent Thursday morning on a battlefield of sorts.

It’s a competition called Battle of the Books. Elementary school students from 18 schools across the Wabash Valley read 20 books and then had to answer a multitude of questions.

It was part of an effort to get students reading and officials say it was a fun way to engage students.

“It’s a nice opportunity to showcase the learning that goes on in our schools and share this with our parents and with our community,” said Christi Fenta, Battle of the Books.

The winning team received a traveling trophy. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
