VPD investigating damage done to police vehicles, homes

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Vincennes Police Department is investigating damage done by gunshots to city police vehicles and the homes of officers.

The first report came in early on Sunday morning.IMG_0848

There was damage done to a marked city police vehicle that was parked outside of an officer’s home. The home was also believed to have sustained damage.

Investigation showed the damage was done from a gunshot.

Later, it was determined a Knox County Officer’s home in the same neighborhood had damage from what appeared to be multiple gunshots and two Vincennes City Police Officer’s marked vehicles parked in front of their homes had damage.

Additionally, the home of one of those officers was damaged by a projectile

The Vincennes Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police are actively investigating the incident and seeking information.
