TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – One organization hopes to take a few strides towards a cure.
The Terre Haute Great Strides Walk is coming up on Sunday, May 4th.
It’s a 5K walk that will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that ravages the lungs and digestive system.
The 5K will take place at Hawthorne Park.
Organizers of the event say it’s a great way to spread awareness.
“If you’re interested in learning more or if you’d like to be a part of the walk or register a team or an individual. You can just visit the website at cff.org, and we will guide you through everything you’d like to know,” Michelle Kirby said.
This year the organization hopes to raise $47,000.
Officials say they are already halfway there.
