TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Duke Energy is transporting a transformer that weights nearly 200,000 pounds.
On Thursday they moved it from a train car in Terre Haute and on Monday they will be moving it from Terre Haute to Rockville.
Officials say that could slow down traffic on Monday.
“It’s like your road and bridges in our country right now. Even the energy system right now needs updates and that’s what we’re doing a lot,” said Rick Burger, Duke Energy. “This will also, we have storms, this will allow us to do more switching on circuits.”
Duke Energy stated they’ll start the process between 8 and 9 a.m. on Monday and that it will be an all day process.
They’ll take the transformer primarily along US 41 from Terre Haute to Rockville, so plan accordingly.
