Library getting set for new project

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Board members at the Vigo County Public Library are getting the plan in motion for the first phases of their new project.

The library is expected to undergo remodeling in the summer.

On Monday the board met to award contracts to the companies they plan to work with.

They received bids from 13 different companies for a variety of different jobs, ranging from carpeting, electrical work and other areas.

“The first set was determining who we were going to work with… Now that we know we can determine an exact construction schedule. But we’re looking to begin work here at the beginning of June,” Kristi Howe, from the Vigo County Public Library said.

Some new changes include a new area for public computers, small study rooms, and even a conference room. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
