TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – One Terre Haute organization wants to connect downtown Terre Haute to the Wabash River.

On Tuesday Terre Haute Art Spaces held its Turn to the River open house.

It’s a project dedicated to using the arts and design to beautify downtown Terre Haute.

The organization is partnered with the city of Terre Haute and J-3 Concepts.

At the open house officials unveiled some of their plans.

“We’d like to create a walking promenade that goes all the way through the river. And there’s a piece of city owned property at the end of Wabash Avenue that could be a really good gathering place, Mary Kramer from Terre Haute Art Spaces said.

The Turn to the River initiative welcomes public input.
