Local family remembers loved ones lost in Arkansas tornadoes

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The family of an Indianapolis native killed by a tornado in Arkansas says they are thankful for the outpouring of support they’ve received.

Rob Tittle was a Southport High School graduate and father of nine. He was killed Sunday night, when a tornado hit his home in Pulaski County.

Rob’s brother, Mike Tittle, said Rob had about 20 seconds warning that a tornado was headed directly for his home. Rob’s wife Kerry, and seven of their children made it into their shelter. Rob and two of his daughters, 20-year-old Tori and 14-year-old Rebekkah, did not survive.Their funerals are planned for Friday.

Mike Tittle says his brother Rob loved life and was a jokester. Mike says his brother and his family, had just visited Indianapolis last month for a Christian convention. Mike says the whole family agrees, what happened to Rob just doesn’t seem real.

“I guess we’re all just in a little bit of shock,” said Mike. “It’s something when one person’s sick or old or has ailments, or there’s a possibility, but to be standing in the middle of your house and be swept away? It’s not like it’s a robbery or a gunshot or an attack, it’s just a strange act of nature.”

Rob was the sole provider for his family. The Tittle’s lost everything, but they have gotten generous donations of clothing and furniture. Their church has set up a website. If you’d like to help the Tittle family, you can click here.
