Celebrating National Nurses Week in the Wabash Valley

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – If you know someone working in the nursing profession this week is the time to tell them ‘thank you.’

That’s because this week is Nurse Appreciation Week. It’s a week dedicated to recognizing the invaluable work nurses do.

News 10 spoke with employees at Union Hospital where they say their nurses are on the ‘front line for patient care.

“It means a lot to me because sometimes as nurses we don’t get that appreciation that we need….when we get that thank you its kind of rewarding for us,” said Sarah Collins, staff nurse at Union Hospital.

And some Wabash Valley nurses say it’s a great feeling to know that their efforts are respected.

“Just a little token of appreciation just to say thank you means the world to you,” said Jamie Gregory, registered nurse at Union Hospital. “I don’t think nurses hear it enough.”

National Nurses Week will be celebrated through May 12.
