Deer in road causes motorcycle accident

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Indiana State Police and Sullivan County emergency agencies responded Wednesday afternoon to a motorcycle accident on State Road 63.

Officials report a 2007 Harley Davidson driven by Stephen M. Dunphy, 56 of Terre Haute, was traveling south on State Road 63 near County Road 600 North when a deer crossed the road.

Dunphy’s motorcycle collided head on with the animal throwing Dunphy from the Harley.

He was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for abrasions and complaints of pain.
