Police bust meth lab near daycare


VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Police bust meth lab near a Vigo County daycare.

Acting on tips, police responded to a home located at 5960 North Erickson Street, in Northern Vigo County.

The home is located within 1,000 feet of a daycare.

When police arrived at the home they located two small working meth labs, about one gram of finished product, numerous items of paraphernalia, numerous chemicals associated with the production of methamphetamine.

The items were found in numerous out buildings and various holes dug in the ground throughout the yard.

Police arrested 50-year-old Donald Ray Cox.

Cox is being charged with possession of meth, manufacturing meth within 1,000 feet of a daycare, illegal storage of anhydrous, possession precursors, dumping controlled waste, possession of precursors and possession of paraphernalia.
