VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) – Vincennes University reports plans to bring in more students from the Land of Lincoln.
School leaders announced this week they’ll offer new scholarship opportunities. But – it’s a very focused effort.
The school hopes to reach out to students in Lawrence, Richland, Crawford and Wabash counties.
Vincennes University President Dick Helton explained VU education helps bridge the gap for Illinois’s work force.
“It’s part of a partnership, a relationship we’ve had for many, many years, so we just determined that we were going to extend that and expand it,” Helton stated.
The scholarship opportunity isn’t like a typical scholarship. It will offer students living in those counties the same tuition cost as Indiana students.
Last school year 142 students represented Lawrence, Richland, Crawford and Wabash counties.
