Being a superhero for a child in need

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Local superheroes showed up in droves to help out community kids on Saturday for the first Superhero Fun Run.

Costumes were encouraged for showing up for the 5k at Indiana State University Memorial Stadium.

CASA Kids Organization officials stated they were thankful the community wanted to help abused and neglected children in the Wabash Valley.

“We’re all superheroes in our own way and this is to celebrate the superheroes of the community and raise awareness for our casa program,” said Nikki Fuhrmeister, Vigo County CASA director.

About 100 people showed up to be a superhero for kids in need.
