Firefighters battled natural gas fire Friday morning

Oaktown, Ind. (WTHI) – Fire and emergency crews battled a fire at a natural gas compression station in Knox County early Friday.

One home was evacuated, but the residents have been allowed to return.

The fire happened at around 4 a.m. in Oaktown, Indiana near Freelandville Road and Newell Road.

Fire crews wrapped up their work just after 6:30 a.m.

A cause for the fire has not been determined.
