Vincennes Pet Port in desperate need of donations

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) – The Vincennes Pet Port reports they are in desperate need of donations.

Shelter administrators say they only have about four bags of dry dog food left – that’s only enough to last another week.

Officials say the summer months play a key in donations dropping. Area high schools act as a big role – but school’s letting out.

“We had a lot of food drives in school over the winter time and that carried us through a long way and its summer time so we’re not having as many food drives,” said Laura Arial, Vincennes Pet Port director.

If you would like to help shelter administrators say donations can be made at the shelter during business hours.

The Pet Port also plans to host an adoption event at Big Lots In Vincennes on Saturday provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
