INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana State Fair will hold its annual job fair Thursday to fill 500 temporary positions.
Some of the positions include ticket sellers, date supervisors, parking attendants, maintenance workers, security workers, shuttle drivers, and cleanup crew people.
The positions are needed for the fair which runs August 1 through the 17.
Spokesperson Andy Klotz said applicants need to be able to handle the heat because, if hired, they’ll likely be on their feet and outside.
“You’ve got to want to be out in the elements in order to enjoy your experience,” said Klotz. “But we really have no problems with finding a lot of people. They really enjoy being out as part of the event even though they are a little bit behind-the-scenes.”
More than 900,000 people attend the State Fair each year.
The job fair will be held Thursday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the state fairgrounds inside the agriculture horticulture building. The line can begin forming at 2 p.m.
Klotz said as long as applicants are here between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. they will be granted an interview.
Resumes are welcome.
Dress can be casual.
