Fire officials rule Vincennes blaze arson

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) – The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office in conjunction with the Vincennes City Fire Department ruled Thursday a fire at C&G Dry Cleaning as arson.

Vincennes Fire Chief Gordon Becher confirmed to News 10, an investigation is underway to figure out who was responsible for starting the blaze the left the business a total loss.

C&G Quality Dry Cleaning caught fire Wednesday May 21. The fire burned into the early hours Thursday.

Fire officials state there was evidence at the scene of the fire suggesting it was ignited from a back wall on the outside of the building.

The fire was ruled a total loss; the building and its contents.

Fire officials ask anyone with information of any kind about this fire or anything suspicious in the area that evening is asked to call the Indiana Arson Hot Line at 1-800-382-4628. There is up to a $5,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of person or persons responsible for this fire.
