TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A property dispute leaves one woman severely injured.

Friday afternoon, just before 4:00, the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home on the 4600 block of State Road 63 on what police are calling a family-neighbor dispute.

Witnesses report a 59-year-old female was upset and drove her Jeep through a related 91-year-old man’s yard, causing property damage.

The man, who was on a riding lawn mower at the time, confronted the female in the driveway.

An argument between the two escalated to the point that the female exited the Jeep with a machete.

As the man quickly turned the riding mower, the mower deck ran over the female’s lower leg resulting in a severe foot injury.

The 59-year-old female was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

The case will be turned over to the Prosecutors Office to determine if any charges will be filed. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
