Decision on local labor union leadership in national union’s hands

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The decision on who will lead a local labor union is in the hands of national union bosses.

The Laborer’s Union International launched an investigation into local number 204. Members accused local leadership of misplacing thousands of dollars in union dues.

The local union has been placed under a trusteeship while the investigation has taken place.

The international union held a hearing on Wednesday to see what to do next. The trusteeship can be dismissed, which puts current union leadership back into place.

Or, the international union can remove current union leaders and order new elections to be held.
