TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – One man is behind bars in federal custody connected to a Wabash Valley bank robbery – but this case went cold awhile ago.

It’s a bank robbery you saw here on News 10 in 2012. And now, federal prosecutors say one man admitted to the crime.

“The Poland, Indiana bank was subject to a robbery back in September of 2012,” explained Joseph Hogsett, U.S. Attorney. “That robbery has remained unsolved until we allege today.”

The robbery was on Sept. 18, 2012 at First Financial Bank.

Federal prosecutors say Alan McCormick robbed the bank with a gun. He’s also accused of four other rural bank robberies around Indiana.

In some of those, the FBI believes he was even armed with explosives. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
