Giving back to heroes in uniform with a ride

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A group of community members decided they needed to give back to heroes in uniform on Saturday – a motorcycle ride that’s been more than a year in the making.

More than 100 bikers gathered at the American Post Legion 104 in Terre Haute. From there they rode over 75 miles to Nashville, Ind.

Their hopes were to raise $10,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that offers a variety of services and programs for wounded veterans.

“My dad was in Korea and I’m very proud of him for his service, and I feel they deserve more than what they are getting right now, and anything we can do to help that’s what we’re here for,” explained Jay McClain, event coordinator.

Event organizers hope to make this ride a yearly event.
