Valley well represented in State Finals

Three schools from across the Wabash Valley punched a ticket to the IHSAA Baseball State Finals on Saturday.

Terre Haute North came from behind to dominate Castle in the later stages of the game. After falling behind 4-0 early on, the Patriots went on to win 8-4. Nathan Will hit a 3-run home run in the ballgame. Austin Hicks battled back after the tough start and went the distance to pick up the win.

Shakamak knocked off Vincennes Rivet in a great pitchers duel. It took 8 innings for someone to break into the scoring column. Freshman Tanner Yeryar drove in the only run of the game in the top of the 8th for Shakamak. His older brother Braxton went all 8 innings on the mound to pick up the shutout.

Chase Allen was very good for Rivet on the hill as well. He gave up only 1 run in 8 IP.

Rockville is headed to state in baseball for the first time. The Rox used a dominated outing from Dalton Laney to beat Washington Township Saturday. Laney struck out 11 hitters to lead Rockville to the 5-1 win. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
