Schedule for mosquito fogging released

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Vigo County Health Department has released the schedule for mosquito fogging.

Workers will begin tonight and will continue until June 20. They will spray six nights per week with weather permitting.

Officials say drivers are not allowed to run the sprayers when people are present. If you are outside when the spray trucks come by, the drivers are expected to turn sprayers off.

Officials also say there are other ways to protect yourself during mosquito season:

  • Use repellent and protective clothing during peak mosquito hours
  • Eliminate standing water
  • Be cautious of flower pots, gutters and old tires since they all serve as mosquito breeding spots provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
